The call rests on the assumption that Beck was responsible for Williams’ violent intentions. During his interview with Media Matters, Williams called Beck a teacher who “blew my mind,” and Beck has attacked Tides dozens of times on his show. But Beck [Williams] also gave an interview to the Examiner in which he said he had heard about the conspiracy theories surrounding Tides before he had tuned into Beck, and criticized Fox for not being aggressive enough in going after such conspiracies.
the above is from politico's on the media column and i believe the 4th use of 'beck' is actually supposed to be williams so i put brackets and put in the name 'williams.' if that's correct, how strange that media matters 'forgot' that, right?
if true, it does put a big snag into the narrative media matters is selling.
regardless, people are responsible for their actions - excepting only insanity (temporary or long term).
i really think that this rush to narrative is not only b.s., it is damaging. again, when john hinkley shot ronald reagan to impress jodie foster, some people tried to pin the blame on the film taxi driver and director martin scorsese. it was john hinkley who pulled the trigger, it is john hinkley who did the shoooting, it is john hinkley who is responsible.
in good news, mtv notes that alicia keys had a baby yesterday. it's a boy and they named him egypt daoud dean (father is her husband swiss kaseem dean beatz).
i like alicia myself but my daughter loves 'fallin'.' that's just become her song. it's so cute to watch her get all excited about it.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
