since it is not her main home (that's in the bay area) or one of her secondary homes, it's not been a priority (despite the fact that she spends more time here than anywhere - maybe even more than in the bay area). so she's stocked up on a number of things but not on every thing. such as?
she and the gang go to a used music store and scoop up vinyl treasures and cds and other things. she probably has just 400 or 500 cds here. and i grabbed the cher 1s because we love cher (my daughter has a cher doll that she will not put down). and flyboy likes cher too but i was covering the whole career in the last 3 hours. and he wanted to hear some 1 else. (he also hears her at home because our daughter can now sing 'i got you babe' and 'believe'.)
i told him that c.i. had more downstairs. but he didn't believe me, i guess. then i pointed out that, of course, there would be some neil young. that got him. he went downstairs and came back with 7 neil young's. (right now we're listening to unplugged. but our daughter has already made clear the next cd will be cher.)
oh, it's a man's world. i'm taking this cher album home with me. i'll let c.i. know, don't worry. she won't care. this is 1 of cher's finest albums. i never see it. i have it but only on cassette. i'm sure you can buy it online but i'm 1 of those people who really wants to have it in their hands and buy it. i'm still trying to tell myself that downloading albums is fun.
but, comeon, you don't get the artwork with most of the downloads. if you do, you have to print it up yourself. when did i become a printer?
anyway. this has 'walking in mephis' on it and 'one by one' among other classic cher performances.
so we're in d.c. to protest tomorrow. the wars are dragging on. barack's not going to end them.
he's not going to do a damn thing.
in fact 'not due a damn thing' is, i believe, the kenyan translation of 'barack.'
so it's going to be up to us to end the wars and that's going to require showing up and saying, 'no more!' if we can't do that, we better be okay with the wars going on and on and on.
so you can stand up or you can be useless.
a lot of left and 'left' newsites online are being useless. many of us picked a website to check in on and see if they were in any way noting the iraq war's 8th annivesary (tomorrow) or the protests (also tomorrow). i went with counterpunch and they post this column on the topics by medea benjamin and charles davis.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
