the rules are you don't work for nbc news and donate to political campaigns.
keith violated the rules this year and he's now on unpaid suspension.
fair has an action alert! boo hoo.
those idiots, they're such whores. i'm so sick of them, they've never called keith out for his sexism, they've ignored every thing just because jeffy cohen loves to stick his tongue up keith's ass.
they then go off on joe scarborough and insist it's the same thing:
Olbermann's donations are in some ways comparable to fellow MSNBC host Joe Scarborough's $4,200 contribution to Republican candidate Derrick Kitts in 2006 (MSNBC.com, 7/15/07). When that was uncovered, though, NBC dismissed this as a problem, since Scarborough "hosts an opinion program and is not a news reporter." Olbermann, of course, is also an opinion journalist--but MSNBC seems to hold him to a different standard.olbermann has been presented in many venues as a reporter - including as a sports reporter. but - typical fair - the link doesn't really work. you can click on it, it takes forever to load, then it does list joe scarborough's name but when you hit 'click for details' the same page just loads again and again and again. so i don't know what he did and what he didn't do. but i do know he wasn't hosting morning joe at the time of that donation because it wasn't on the air until april of 2007 (it replaced don imus' show).
i see a lot of this story online with links - and links that don't work. a bunch of idiots repeating fair's nonsense word-for-word but offering a different link (to open secrets) to make it look like they did their own work messed up because there's no proof to be found at their link.
not knowing what was going on, i asked c.i. who made 1 call to a nbc suit and got the answer.
joe scarborough came to msnbc (in 2003) as a former member of congress. he was not a journalist. when it was learned he had given to a campaign, he was brought in and corrected on the policy. as far as msnbc knows, there has been no other problem and this took place before he was part of morning joe. keith olbermann had previous experience with espn and fox and msnbc. and he knew the rules coming in. he did not 'forget' the rules. he chose to break them. there is a difference. and not only that, he had at least 1 of the candidates he donated to on his show.
why does that matter?
find out if joe scarborough gave air time to derrick kitts. i don't know that he did, no one's proven that he did. if he did, the situations are more similar.
if he didn't, they aren't.
keith brought on some 1 whose campaign he supported and had broken the rules to donate to - and he didn't inform his audience.
see fair doesn't really care about disclosures, they just pretend to.
when melissa harris-lacewell (now perry) went on democracy now and 'forgot' to disclose she was working for the barack obama campaign, fair didn't call her out. months later when she did the same on the charlie rose show, fair still didn't call her out. they pretend they're a media watch dog but they're nothing of the sort. ava and c.i. called out lie face melissa both times - in real time - here and here.
and here's another difference between fair and ava and c.i. - ava and c.i. don't beg you for money. need a good laugh? here's fair describing themselves.
FAIR, the national media watch group, has been offering well-documented criticism of media bias and censorship since 1986. We work to invigorate the First Amendment by advocating for greater diversity in the press and by scrutinizing media practices that marginalize public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints. As an anti-censorship organization, we expose neglected news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled.
bias? they never called out lie face melissa, they repeatedly ignored the sexism in the 2008 dem primary race. they're nothing but whores. bring the whores down, force them to get real jobs.
i'm not in a good mood, if you can't tell. i won't be posting this - cross-posting it - over to my mirror site. how come?
i just posted the following there tonight:
now it's no loss for the community, like me, cedric uses blogdrive as a back-up account. but he just found out he'd been deleted by this crap ass, racist blogdrive. yeah, i said, it, kiss my ass.
let me be really clear, if cedric's account is not restored, i won't be using this anymore and i doubt any of the rest of us will.
in other words, we don't support racism. if blogdrive wants to practice racism, it will do so on its own.
i will continue my main site at my main address.
but this may be my last post on blog drive. that will depend upon whether or not they restore cedric's account and whether or not they apologize for their blatant racism.
go read last post ever?, it's amazing. cedric was attempting to cross-post when he discovered that his account had been disabled because he is black.
that's why i'm not in a good mood. all week, cedric got e-mails - racists 1s - claiming they were going to shut him down. it appears they succeeded. at blogdrive.
so if they don't reinstate him, i'll be dropping my mirror site.
she's right now looking into other backup sites and has signed up for 3 already.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
