above is Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "The Idiotic Susan Rice" which went up yesterday. i'll note the other 1 from yesterday - "Sunset Jackson" - tomorrow.
'revenge' which airs sunday nights on abc.
i'm sorry but i didn't love this episode and i generally love them.
i'm getting a little tired of flashback episodes to begin with.
but stop going back 6 or more years and making the same actor play jack. it's ridiculous. he's a talented actor but ends up looking like dustin hoffman at the beginning of 'tootsie' when he's auditioning to play some little boy.
and get actors who match.
i have very big breasts. and i tend to notice big mistakes involving big breasts.
we learned about victoria's life and finally met her mother - the great adrienne barbeau.
i love adrienne and i knew she'd nail the character.
she was excellent.
she shows up at the grayson manor to see her daughter victoria during the holidays and, look, she's brought along her rich suiter. she's about to marry him.
daniel arranged the whole thing (and this is several years ago - this is a flashback episode except for some scenes with aiden and emily). and it seems like victoria's going to entertain her mother even though she's not happy to see her.
but at the table, she makes a statement about not having children before you're ready. it's a cutting remark that she tries to take back as every 1 looks at victoria. victoria eventually asks if every 1 would like to hear about when she was thrown out by her own mother?
adrienne's ready to split but her suitor says he would like to hear it and victoria starts her tale.
but much earlier. adrienne shot a suitor - shot dead. victoria was a small girl. she made victoria hold the gun and shoot and claim that she'd shot the man to defend herself. she told victoria the lie would make her a hero.
instead, victoria notes, she ended up in a psych ward for 6 months. when she finally got out, her mother had a new boyfriend who 'visited' 15-year-old victoria 1 night and, as a result, victoria's mother kicked her out the next day.
adrienne's enraged and says something about not teaching victoria pity.
the boyfriend's heard enough. he tells adrienne that they're through and leaves the table. she lashes out at victoria and says she sold the house, she spent all her money landing this 1 and now she has nothing. victoria notes her home has tons of rooms. just when adrienne thinks she'll be staying there, victoria adds that it's a shame but 'pity's not a quality that you've taught me.'
and get this, that man?
victoria and conrad hired him. the whole thing was a set up to destroy her mother.
now my problem? the flashbacks to the 15-year-old victoria?
mommy was shown too.
and mommy had small breasts.
did adrienne also buy some implants? if so, you'd think victoria would have made a comment. if adrienne's character didn't buy implants, then what the hell?
adrienne has very large breasts. probably bigger than dolly parton's. and she's known for them. when you hire her, you know she has them. so why didn't they have an actress for the long ago flashback with big breasts?
it didn't look right.
and they even let daniel write bad poetry about his grandmother's breasts (adrienne's breasts), so the writers knew adrienne had big breasts. (daniel supposedly could have been a great poet - really? - but conrad and victoria decided to set him up with rejection letters so he'd focus on the family company.)
present day conrad meets marco to find out about nolan's company.
marco was nolan's c.f.o. 6 years ago until he found out that $500 million went to the daughter of david clarke (emily).
nolan fires marco when marco can't accept it.
oh, and marco? he was also nolan's lover at that time.
that made no sense at all. even with a debt to emily he should have at least seemed torn by firing his lover, knowing his lover was out the door forever more.
6 years ago, ashley had an art degree and couldn't pay her student loans so she was hooking or pimping or both. emily met her at a dive where russian's controlled everything. it's also where she meets aiden. she's there to do 1 thing to the bad guy while aiden's there to kill him.
did takedo set them up? he sent both there apparently.
so that's where they meet.
in present day, they're rolling all over the bed and screwing. and emily's so glad to have some 1 she can trust and some 1 who knows she's amanda and still loves her.
i liked adrienne, she was really good.
ashley's scene made no sense.
emily and aiden's chemistry carried their scenes along.
but jack's scenes fell flat.
and i'm saying 'jack's scenes' but jack wasn't the lead in them.
if i were on a tv show, i think i would want to be on 'revenge.'
no actor loses a job on 'revenge' apparently.
jack's father died long ago.
but the flashbacks were all about jack's dad and how he helped cover up a murder (history repeats! like when jack thought faux amanda shot and killed tyler on the beach last season so he covered it up).
or lazy writers do?
that is the question.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
