they always cover tv but jim asked them to grab the judy collins book so they did. that is an epic piece and they were tired so they did a feature on hulu that they called around for (strong reporting, by the way). and in that hulu piece, they included an illustration.
that's the lead character in 'grimm,' nick.
i was asked why i hadn't written about 'grimm' already this week. it airs on friday. check ava and c.i. about how fringe and other shows with continuing elements (grimm has them) that are not available for streaming the next day (grimm is) should be available the day before the new episode airs to promote interest in the show. as in, i stream something thursday and i'm saying, 'how does that turn out? okay, i'm going to make a point to watch friday to see how this turns out!'
so i'm covering grimm on thursdays - that way if you're interested in it, it's on your mind right before the new episode airs (fridays, nbc).
on the most recent episode, the blond woman that's a monster and tried to kill nick's aunt (who is now dead) was in trouble. the police were going to have to protect here. and nick and his partner got that assignment. he couldn't even tell his partner why he didn't trust or like the woman.
nick is from the grimm family and the show operates under the concept that the grimm brother fairy tales were not fantasies but actual events that the family wrote down to educate future generations as they were forced to face, for example, a wolf like the 1 in little red riding hood.
so this woman was in danger from these people who are part bees.
the monsters this week were the bees.
and when they started checking around, nick and his partner were almost attacked by a huge swarm of bees.
they continued investigating.
and then they had to get the woman to a secret location because a message was sent (that they caught) saying the target (the woman) was in the open and it was time to strike.
there was a point made about bees being the original social media (i don't know if that's true or not).
they sense things, we were told, and sense them before they come along.
why were they after this woman? and were they bad?
nick questions the woman while his partner looks for coffee. he tells her he wants answers or he may not protect her with all his power and training.
bees start flying around his partner in the other room. nick goes after him. when they come back, she's gone.
they find her at an empty warehouse and the queen bee woman has her and is about to kill her. the monster is calling for nick to save her. the bee is saying that there are things nick doesn't yet know.
nick is leaning towards believing the bee woman. but his partner comes around the corner, sees the bee woman with the blond and shoots the bee woman.
who dies but not before she can warn nick that they were trying to save him and that something bad is coming, something very bad, and he needs to be careful.
the trailer for this week shows a man arriving. what are his powers? i don't know. but that takes you through the latest on 'grimm.'
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
