that's Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts' "The Plan For Day 101" and doesn't nouri al-maliki look glamorous!!!!!
in ava and c.i.'s 'Media: After the 'revolution',' they address the liberal oasis podcast.
reading their commentary, i thought, 'becky! you've got to listen!'
so i did this afternoon.
how right ava and c.i. were.
1) stop laughing at each other's 'jokes' non-stop. it does not make for good listening.
2) i curse and have no problem with it. but traci's cursing is more than excessive. if she can't make a point without f-this or f-that, i believe that goes to both her grasp and reach.
3) there is not now or ever an excuse for a political program on the left to have a segment about stabbing people in the face.
it's not funny. it's the kind of crap that i believe some were screaming a few months ago was the cause of a congress woman being shot.
it's not funny.
i didn't hear the episode ava and i listened to. i barely made it through the podcast i listened to.
there was no guest, just traci and bill and their biases.
and, i'm sad say, bill's big silly.
if i ever listened again, i'd use a stronger term.
but bill is a nice guy - he's deluded right now and probably needs therapy, but he's a nice guy so i'll just say he was a big silly.
if anthony weiner's story does anything at all, maybe it will remind people of the last sex scandal.
do you remember chris lee?
he represented new york's 29th district until he went shopping for sex on craig's list and sent out a shirtless photo.
starting to ring bells?
i'm not trying to embarrass him - or weiner or any 1 - and i do have a point for bringing it up.
big silly bill and ass-face traci were convinced that a special election that just took place meant that america was turning against the tea party.
that's how you interpret that race?
i finished listening at 1:30 p.m. and got on the phone calling around to various friends (i used to do p.r. and had my own firm which set me up enough to retire early and easily) to see if any 1 could get a hold of the polling data for the race bill and butt-face traci were talking about.
that's not what the polling suggests.
and a case can be made - looking at the polling over time and noting what was being talked about in different stages - that kathy hochul - the winner - won because of chris lee.
what's that! he was a scandal!
yes, and he was a republican and she was a democrat.
when i sent out my flares this afternoon, i mentioned to a few people i called what i was looking for. 1 faxed over the polling of another campaign - which was very similar. tom reed is in congress now.
and a good case can be made that a sex scandal helped him in.
he's a republican.
democrat eric massa was serving in congress when allegations surfaced that he was making passes at men. it killed his career. it was a scandal. he stepped down. tom reed was then elected to that seat. reed is a republican and massa is a democrat.
and the polling does twin and mirror.
so a very good case could be made that a sex scandal results in the seat of congress flipping to the other party in the state of new york. (at least if the 1 who had the scandal resigns.)
as for big silly bill's conclusions, you can never use one house race to make a prediction. it's too small and it's too insignificant. a senate race is state wide and, if you study the polling, you probably can make some sort of educated national guess. but not from a house of rep. race. doesn't work that way.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
