this episode was a huge improvement over the flashback mania of last week.
i really don't care about jack this season.
a) i don't care that he's a daddy now with faux amanda (we all know he belongs with the real amanda who's pretending to be emily).
b) i don't care that some goons want to take over the bar.
c) i care even less now that i learn this is a revenge move because their father was killed by a friend of jack's father (and jack's father helped cover it up).
d) i just don't care.
jack had a scene where he asked nolan for help. it was the only 1 the whole episode i liked with jack in it.
and the problem's not jack. he's a great actor. the problem is sucky writing.
daniel wanted to take over grayson industries.
from his father.
there was a time when victoria would go for that.
she was against it because the initiative would kill daniel, conrad tells her.
the initiative? some secret group.
years ago, david clark (amanda clark's father) had an affair with victoria who was then married to conrad. they were going to go off together. but conrad and the initiatve committed terrorism and needed a fall guy. victoria helped them pin it on david.
it destroyed his life. it destroyed amanda's life. amanda returned as an adult named emily to get revenge.
aidan will be on the board if daniel wins.
but there are complications. and daniel also is turning on people. he is listening to ashley who hates aidan.
emily decides it's time to release the video of ahsley making love with conrad.
victoria sees it 1st and is furious. (remember, she and conrad just got re-married.)
conrad tries to excuse it.
victoria needs a rich man to back conrad. she blackmails ashley, seduce the man to get the vote for daniel and she won't tell him about the video.
emily and aidan set it up so that daniel catches ashley sleeping with a rich guy who can decide who runs grayson. daniel tells him he's voting for him (daniel) or his wife is finding out about the affair.
daniel turns on ashley.
i loved that. she had it coming.
daniel ends up in charge. he stabs aidan in the back.
before he gets in charge, he ends up with 51% control of nolan's company.
former lover marco spills most of the beans on nolan - including tthat $500 million disappeared. (that's the money he gave emily to pay back her father for his investments.)
marco and nolan - even angry at each other - make a more convincing couple than nolan and that woman he's made cfo.
i hope marco and nolan are getting back together.
emily had different make up this go round, by the way. i thought she looked really good made up that way.
the end? daniel's looking at an office clock. it has a camera and the initiative is watching him. meanwhile emily gets a call. it's victoria. she wants emily's help.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
