i hope you read mike's 'Revenge' last night. he spent the last few days streaming season 1 on netflix. i'm glad he liked the show because i really love it.
remember, it returns on sunday september 30th. season 2.
so mike caught a lot of good stuff in his review including the use of music, which i really had never commented on and i'm not sure it registered with me until i was reading mike's piece. but suddenly, i remembered those winter episodes and daniel, for example, angry in the grayson mansion, with the bracelet around his ankle, victoria (his mother) telling him emily was too close to jack and that music rolling in like waves. it really did add to the atmosphere of the show.
i wish i had thought to credit the music.
it's kind of like a jaws theme, you know?
so daniel, e-mailed brandy, do i really not like him?
i just see emily (the real amanda) as being perfect for jack.
daniel was always too smooth and far too wise for a man who hadn't done a thing with his life but crash his car and destroy a girl's life as a result.
it's not like he used that incident to improve life. it made him (briefly) stop drinking. that was for him. there was no sense that daniel felt like taking that young woman's ability to walk away from her because he drove drunk registered or was something that he felt he had to make up for. his parents paid the family off and that was that for daniel.
he's shallow and has a mean streak.
jack's like sammy. yes, sammy was amanda's dog. but he was loyal and dependable and would protect you. that's how i see jack.
jack's a grown up. not a little boy trying to be a man.
he's raising his brother. he's had years of having to put his life on hold for 1 thing or another. he knows about sacrifice and putting other people 1st. so he's a grown up.
and it doesn't hurt that he's sexy as hell.
again, season 2 of the show starts sunday night, september 30th on abc.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
