we step all over it, take it for granted and expect it to always be there.
we destroy it and then are amazed that all of our harm has an effect. mark kinver (bbc news) reports:
Despite having protected status, the biodiversity in a large number of tropical forests is still continuing to decline, a study has suggested. The authors said the findings should cause concern because the areas have been seen as a final refuge for a number of threatened species.
Habitat disruption, hunting and timber exploitation have been seen as signs of future decline, they added.
at what point do we worry?
we acted like that point was going to be 2008. i guess all the polar caps will have to melt and all the species will have to die out before we take a moment to even ponder: did we cause that?
instead, we go along wrecking the earth day after day and acting like there will never ever be any consequences.
