Mr Hashemi, who is subject to an arrest warrant on terror charges, said that Mr Maliki should be focusing on security not "chasing patriotic politicians".
The crisis has sparked fears of renewed sectarian conflict in Iraq.[...]
"We should blame Mr Maliki, he started a national crisis and it's not easy to control," Mr Hashemi told the BBC's Arabic Service.
"The Iraqis have a right to be worried."
i agree with him, nouri al-maliki has failed to provide security repeatedly. over and over. the iraqi people should be demanding his head on a stick.
not only is violence at appalling levels, there's the fact that he refuses to appoint a minister of national security, a minister of interior or a minister of defense. 3 security positions. and all vacant.
is it any wonder that violence is on the rise?
