that's Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "Operator Error" and it's funny. funny is also the excuses many make for barack - even at this late date. patrick martin (wsws) reports:
Under the headline, “What Happened to Obama?” Drew Westen, a professor of psychology at Emory University, expresses the disillusionment of many liberal supporters of Obama, who believed that the election of the first African-American president represented a watershed and an opportunity to revive the liberal reform policies associated with Roosevelt’s New Deal and the Great Society measures of the 1960s.
While couched in the language of post-modernism—Westen complains about Obama’s failure to “tell a story” or provide a compelling “counternarrative” to the Republican ultra-right—the criticisms are sharper than anything that has appeared recently in the Times, especially after the departure of two of the newspaper’s more liberal columnists, Bob Herbert and Frank Rich.
Westen focuses his critique especially on Obama’s refusal to denounce those responsible for the 2008 financial collapse—the bankers and billionaire speculators—and to promote an aggressively liberal alternative to the bank bailout initiated in the final months of the Bush administration and then expanded after the Democratic administration took over.i am amazed at the people unwilling to see barack for what he is. he has a track record now. he was never going to amount to much but the liars refuse to admit it. and now some still make excuses for him.
john conyers, politico reports, is facing 1 of the most difficult races due to redistricting. i don't hate conyers but i have grown disenchanted. he spoke so strongly and then came the 2006 mid-terms and the democrats getting control of both houses. at that point, he should have stood up to nancy pelosi. he didn't. and that's to his eternal shame, my opinion.
he's held the seat since 1964.
which brings up the other issue. it's time to step down.
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
