they think they're really cool because they obsess over tina fey which lets you know that they're readers are single women, unattractive and spend a great deal of time at home (in fact, if they aren't at work, they're home alone).
with an image like that, you might think they'd worry about how they come off.
i wrote about jamie leigh jones getting screwed over already. didn't realize jezebel thought that the way to cover it was by launching an attack.
their report on the verdict was fairly straight forward.
but in the comments?
it's attack, attack.
in fact, there's 1 little bitch, ugly 'adah,' who thinks she knows everything because she served in afghanistan. some 1 to tell that bitch to shut the f**k up.
adah jots little 'thoughts' like: 'I'm not saying she's lying completely.'
adah? i'm not saying your trashy whore. well maybe i am.
and you can leave a comment at jezebel if you trash jamie leigh jones.
if you defend her, they don't want it.
i found that out today in an e-mail from a woman who tried to leave a defense of jamie. and then i went on the site and tried to leave a defense of jaimie. they don't post those. here's the comment heather tried to leave this morning:
I guess I don't understand why a bad Mother Jones article that presents the views of the KBR attorneys is being treated as gospel. Nor do I have a lot of respect for anyone who keeps insisting that they're not trying to doubt Jamie Leigh Jones while also including sentences like, "I'm not saying she's lying completely." I'm not saying a poster is "lying completely," I'm just saying that statement's rather telling. The Mother Jones article is garbage. C.I. spent 22 paragraphs calling it out: [thecommonills.blogspot.com]
"Each victim -- female or male -- will respond in individual ways that have to do with their own issues, their own attitudes. The assault leaves an impression, it does not create them, it does not birth them, they do not emerge from an assault alll walking and talking exactly the same. Five people shot in five different robberies are not expected to conduct themselves in exactly the same manner. There is no reason that sexual assault victims should be expected to all act alike."
And Jill at Feministe called out the Mother Jones nonsense as well. [www.feministe.us]
"2. If a victim says "I think I was roofied because I had a few drinks and have no recollection of what happened, except I woke up and someone (or multiple people) had sex with me without my consent" and the response is, "Actually she was probably drunk," that doesn’t really indicate that she’s lying. Maybe she was drunk instead of drugged! Still not ok to rape her, I think?
3. Lack of DNA evidence from multiple men doesn’t mean "no gang rape." That prosecutors were only able to find DNA from one man doesn’t necessarily mean there weren’t other assailants; it does mean that prosecutors are doing the responsible thing and only trying the case where they have evidence to back up their theory."
Jamie Leigh's jury had 8 men on it. How fair do you think that was? And as C.I. pointed out, is KBR, it's a company town. I think a lot more sympathy should be shown to Jamie Leigh Jones and the snark and the attacks need to stop.
it never made it up in the over 12 hours ago it was first confirmed by heather. because it defended jamie.
jezebelle likes to pretend they're strong women but their just little bitches carving up other women. they've exposed themselves for all the world to see.
as c.i. notes in the snapshot today, only 15% of rape victims who come forward see their cases result in a conviction. maybe jezebel can now make fun of all those other women too?
let's close with c.i.'s 'Iraq snapshot:'
